Turkish purple Jadeite Jade, aka Turkiyenite, is found in only one region of the world - Bursa Province in Turkey’s Marmara Region. It has become increasingly scarce in mining and is hard to source. We procured this material from an old collection.
Turkish Jade is a heterogenous gemstone consisting mainly of jadeite, quartz, orthoclase, epidote, chloritoid, and phlogopite. The concentration of jadeite in this material measures between 40% and 60%.
