Muonionalusta Meteorite - Northern Scandinavia
This is a piece of the Muonionalusta meteorite, one of the oldest known meteorites, estimated to have fallen in Northern Scandinavia over 800,000 years ago. It is an iron-nickel meteorite classified as a fine octahedrite and displays the distinctive Widmanstätten pattern, revealed through etching. These patterns are formed by the slow cooling of the metal in space over millions of years. Muonionalusta meteorites are prized for their scientific significance and as collectible specimens.
