Mohawkite is an rare amalgam of silver, nickel, skutterudite copper and arsenic. Believed to exist solely in Michigan's Mohawk Mine, Mohawkite was first uncovered in January 1900 near the No. 1 shaft. This copper mine, located on the Keweenaw Peninsula, is the source of this remarkable substance.
