Cerussite – Tsumeb, Namibia

Cerussite crystal rough from the historic Tsumeb Mine in Namibia, once part of the late Glenn Vargas collection. This is older material from one of the world’s most renowned localities for cerussite, now increasingly scarce since the closure of the mine’s lower levels. A rare chance to obtain classic, well-documented Tsumeb rough.

Glenn Vargas was a leading figure in the faceting community, co-author of Faceting for Amateurs, and a longtime instructor of gem cutting and gemology at the University of Texas (1975–1999). He also designed faceting equipment and supported students through scholarships, leaving a lasting mark on the lapidary world
