Soft pink and coral orbs drift across pale yellow and deep green fields, creating the unmistakable, cellular pattern Ocean Jasper is known for. Ocean Jasper is a trade name for a rare orbicular jasper found only along a remote stretch of Madagascar’s northwest coast. The rough occurs in hard coastal boulders that historically could only be accessed at low tide, often by boat, making recovery difficult and highly weather-dependent. Those deposits are now considered depleted or effectively closed, and no new material has been commercially recovered for years, which is why genuine Ocean Jasper has become increasingly scarce and sought after.
