A beautiful set of four Australian Chrysoprase cabochons with rich, emerald-green color and an almost gel-like translucency. This is exceptionally gemmy material, with the vivid, saturated green that makes fine Australian Chrysoprase so desirable.
Chrysoprase is a variety of chalcedony colored naturally by nickel. Australia has long been famous for producing some of the world's finest examples, particularly from the historic Marlborough deposits in Queensland, where major commercial production began in the 1960s. The finest material has a richness of color and translucency that can rival fine green Jadeite.
These old-stock cabochons are wonderful examples of the quality that made Australian Chrysoprase famous
