The Story of Eilat Stone

Eilat Stone is the national stone of Israel and derives its name from the location where it was once mined - Eilat in the Timna Valley.  The stone is also known by the name of 'King Solomon Stone' as it is storied that it was originally pulled from the King's mines.   It is completely unique to Israel and is no longer being mined.

The exquisite rich blue color of Eilat stone and it's marbled patterning is due to its heterogenous mixture of secondary copper minerals such as malachite, azurite, turquoise, pseudomalachite, chrysocolla and others.

Historically and symbollically significant, the Eilat Stone is a national treasure.
