Schiller Sunstone - Oregon

Schiller sunstone from the Dust Devil Mine in Oregon is known for its coppery-orange color and metallic shimmer, referred to as the schiller effect. This optical phenomenon is caused by copper platelets suspended within the feldspar crystal, which reflect light in a way that creates a glittering appearance. The Dust Devil Mine is one of the most prominent sources of high-quality sunstones, producing material with excellent clarity and vibrant schiller. Oregon sunstones are unique because they are naturally untreated, with their color and shimmer occurring naturally.
