Old-stock Hyalite opal nodules from Mexico. These were formally part of the Glenn Vargas* collection, making them historical and importnat roughs!
These nodules show the typical water-clear to pale body color with a natural rounded formation. Hard to find in this form, they make an interesting addition for collectors or potential cutting material
*Glenn Vargas was a leading figure in the faceting community, known for co-authoring Faceting for Amateurs and teaching gem cutting and gemology at the University of Texas from 1975 to 1999. He also designed faceting machines and supported students through scholarships, leaving a lasting impact on the lapidary world
