Natural zircon crystal from the Central Highlands of Vietnam, an area known for producing some of the world’s only naturally occurring pink to rose-colored zircon.
Vietnamese zircon is typically recovered from secondary placer deposits in provinces like Dak Nong and Lam Dong. Unlike Cambodian material, which is routinely heat-treated to produce vivid blue stones, most Vietnamese zircon is left untreated due to its desirable natural color. However, when heated in a reduced-oxygen environment, this material can also shift to a saturated blue, though the resulting hue is often less stable than that of traditionally treated blue zircon from Sri Lanka or Cambodia.
