Collected from the long-worked opal pockets of La Trinidad, Querétaro, where volcanic rhyolite formed natural cavities later filled with brilliant opal. This region is famous for “cantera” material, where the play-of-color remains embedded in its original host rock. Mining here has been done by hand for generations, giving each specimen both historic and geological significance
