Eye Tourmaline Cabochons – Mogok, Burma

A rare matched pair of Eye Tourmaline cabochons from the legendary Mogok gem region of Burma. These unusual stones are cut from what is known as Mushroom Tourmaline, a remarkable formation of pink Tourmaline growing around a dark Schorl Tourmaline core. When cut across the growth structure, the contrasting colors create the distinctive dark eyes surrounded by translucent pink.

This unusual variety was discovered in the Momeik area near Mogok and is known for its very limited occurrence. Both cabochons show beautifully defined eyes with delicate radiating patterns and nicely matched pink color. A fascinating pair of collector gemstones from one of Burma's most unusual Tourmaline discoveries.
