This vivid pair of electric-blue Hauyne comes from the volcanic hills of the Eifel region in Germany—one of the only places on earth where gem-quality Hauyne is found. Their unmistakable color, neon intensity, is completely natural and sets them apart from almost anything else in the gem world.
Hauyne crystals are typically tiny, so matched faceted pairs like this are rare and highly collectible. They’re cut to bring out the rich color and sparkle, despite the gem’s natural softness.
You’ll notice a small black dot in one of the stones—it’s likely a bit of volcanic matrix that formed with the gem, a natural reminder of the lava flow these stones came from. In hand, the spot is nearly impossible to see without magnification
