Gaspeite Cabochon

Discovered recently, gaspeite is a rare nickel carbonate mineral that takes its name from the Gaspé Peninsula of Eastern Canada, where it was originally identified in 1966 by D.W. Kohls and J.L. Rodda. Specimens have also been located in New Mexico in the U.S. and in Western Australia, with the mineral often appearing in a bright, apple green hue.
